Standard S2S Conversion Tracking

Standard Conversion Tracking

Conversions can be tracked by appending the [transaction_id] macro to each click and then posting back successful transaction id's to the XID parameter.

Finding Your Postback Code

Navigate to your Campaign Dashboard and in the Quick Stats will be your postback code. Your postback code is now global and no longer requires use of the offer= variable. The standard postback code for every campaign is now:  http://a.tapit.com/adconvert.php?xid=[transaction_id]

Example:

If your offer link was "http://offerlink.com" you could append a transaction id to the end of your link as follows:

Links:

http://offerlink.com/?transaction_id=[transaction_id]

Upon click the Tapit adserver will replace the [transaction_id] macro with the appropriate transaction id value and pass it through the specified parameter in your tracking link. In this instance "transaction" was used, however you could assign it to any parameter of your choice. Most commonly &subid= or &s1= are used.

The following postback would also be implemented in your tracking software to post back any successful transaction id's from the link above. The passing back, or "postback," of these transaction id's that have successfully converted will register these conversions inside your Tapit campaign dashboard and advanced reporting, giving your more insight into what is driving conversions for your campaign.

Postback:

http://a.tapit.com/adconvert.php?xid=[transaction_id]

The [transaction_id], portion will need to be dynamically replaced with the transaction id you wish to postback to signal a conversion.

Note: &offer=[campaign_id] is no longer necessary. It was removed to make the conversion tracking global to all your campaigns, and not just campaign specific.

It is advisable to test all of your links yourself before launching your campaign to ensure they are functioning as expected.
